Breaking Barriers: Affinidi Welcomes New Female Leaders and Celebrates Women in Tech

Affinidi

The Legacy of Trailblazers in the Digital Age

When Clara Zetkin stood before the International Socialist Women’s Conference in 1910, proposing the first International Women’s Day, she planted a seed of revolution. Over a century later, that seed has grown—yet not quite into the mighty forest of equality we had hoped for.

According to the World Economic Forum’s Global Gender Gap Report 2024, achieving full gender parity would take 134 years—five generations—at the current pace.

This sobering timeline isn’t just a statistic; it’s a call to arms that perfectly aligns with this year’s #IWD2025 theme: #AccelerateAction.

In technology, where innovation moves at lightning speed, why should equality crawl?

Leadership Reimagined: Our Newest Female Executives

With genuine excitement, we welcome two exceptional leaders to our executive team: Nupur Sadiwala as Chief Financial Officer, and Tanya Troshyna as Chief Product Officer.

Nupur brings nearly two decades of extensive experience in Corporate Finance, Venture Capital, Investment Banking, and Strategic Operations. Her impressive career includes serving as CFO for Reebonz and Fetch, having raised over $600 million in debt and equity fundraising and orchestrated a Nasdaq listing. She also held key leadership positions at Goldman Sachs and Deloitte, and advised Fortune 500 companies on over $7 billion of corporate finance transactions. A Columbia Business School graduate, Nupur was also a member of CHIEF, the premier network for senior executive women.

“I’ve spent my career watching women work twice as hard to earn the trust that seems to come naturally to men in similar positions. Rather than dwelling on distant parity goals, I focus on what I can influence today—showing up, excelling, and creating paths for those who follow. What truly transforms organisations isn’t just female leadership in isolation, but the alchemy that happens when diverse perspectives converge around complex problems. At Affinidi, I’m drawn to our bold mission to democratise data ownership and change how the world operates. My advice to women navigating similar paths? Be unapologetically ambitious. There will always be reasons not to advance; choose to move forward anyway.”

— Nupur Sadiwala, CFO of Affinidi

Tanya joins us with fifteen years of experience building products that have reached over 430 million consumers and 29 million businesses across 200 countries. Her leadership journey spans senior roles at PayPal and Twitter, and her startups, achieving an impressive $6.81 billion in revenue generation with award-winning solutions. With an MBA from Berkeley, a Master’s in Computer Science, and experience across six countries, Tanya is set to bring a truly global perspective to our product development.

“When I studied computer science, I was one of only six women in a class of sixty-two, and the data suggested I was most likely to fail. Despite these discouraging statistics, I refused to let numbers define my journey. Over the years, I’ve often found myself as the only woman in rooms filled with entrepreneurs and technologists. These experiences taught me to look beyond the odds and inspired what drew me to Affinidi. It wasn’t just our mission to safeguard data, intellectual property, and privacy—it was our firm commitment to gender diversity. According to McKinsey’s ‘Diversity Matters More’ report, gender-diverse executive teams are 62% more likely to outperform national industry medians in profitability. At Affinidi, we design digital identity solutions through diverse perspectives, creating technology that truly serves the full spectrum of humanity.”

Commitment to Inclusive Leadership

“True diversity transcends quotas—it’s about creating environments where multiple perspectives shape decisions at every level. Through targeted mentorship, inclusive hiring practices, and initiatives that amplify women’s voices, we’ve embedded this philosophy into our organisational fabric. The appointment of Nupur and Tanya exemplifies our appointment approach: bringing global expertise and diverse perspectives to Affinidi. We grow stronger because of our differences, not despite them—a principle guiding both our people strategy and product development.”

— Tan Ong Jin, Chief People Officer of Affinidi

Leadership That Empowers

Glenn Gore, our CEO, speaks with conviction about the imperative for gender balance: “We need women at all levels, including the top, to change the dynamic, reshape the conversation, and ensure women’s voices are heard and heeded, not overlooked and ignored. McKinsey’s ‘Gender Diversity’ report from 2020 tells us that companies with executive teams that include 30% or more women outperform their competitors with fewer or none, by 48%—something we progressively work towards at Affinidi. Yet behind every statistic are real women doing extraordinary work.”

“To every woman at Affinidi—our engineers wrestling with complex problems, our designers creating intuitive interfaces, our marketers telling our story, our operations teams keeping everything running smoothly, and all other female employees pushing boundaries to make us better—I see you and am grateful for each one of you. Your determination fuels our progress, and your perspectives challenge assumptions that make us better.”

“The parallels between our mission to give people control of their digital identities and our commitment to ensuring everyone has control of their professional destiny aren’t coincidental. They reflect our fundamental belief that empowerment and equality are non-negotiable elements of a better future.”

— Glenn Gore, CEO of Affinidi

The Economics of Equality

As we commemorate International Women’s Day 2025, we invite our community—colleagues, partners, and allies—to join the #AccelerateAction movement. Making digital identity truly personal requires the same principles we advocate for in our workplace: fairness, access, and agency for all.

The potential is staggering: A McKinsey Global Institute report shares that $28 trillion could be added to the global GDP if women had the same opportunity to participate in the labour force as men. That’s not just good for women; it’s good for everyone.

The time for accelerated action isn’t some distant tomorrow—it’s now. The future is ours to programme: one line of code, one decision, one leadership appointment at a time.

Will you join us?
